Director of Summer and Youth Ministry

Celine Newman came onboard as full time staff, serving in this position since 2007. Celine was born and raised in the town of Gallup, NM where she lived with her mother, Donna, father, Marvin, and brother, William. In high school she was actively involved in youth group, soccer, swimming and band. She attended college at Concordia University, Irvine, CA, where she continued her music studies with oboe, handbells, and directing and as a Director of Christian Education. Celine also spent times on international and youth ministry teams as well as serving at Lutherhaven as summer staff three summers and 1 year as the Ministry Impact worker. Celine oversees the summer programs as well as the stepping stones of faith, confirmation retreats throughout the year. 

Director of Rest and Renewal Ministry

Brenda Jank, began her ministry full time at Lutherhaven in 1993 as Program Director when husband Tim was brought on as Executive Director.  After stepping down to start a family, she continues to use her talent and passion for biblical rest and renewal in many programs at Camp Lutherhaven.  Brenda volunteers her time for Camp in this area which impacts Camp's Day Away, Vantage Point, and Women's Retreats among others.

Executive Director

Tim Jank, formally a Director of Christian Education (DCE) near Chicago IL, joined the ministry of Camp Lutherhaven in 1993 as Executive Director. While in college, Tim discovered how exciting and unique outdoor ministry could be after spending three summers at Sonrise Lutheran Outdoor Ministry, a camp in upstate New York. His interests include computers, music, photography, sports, and of course, being a Dad. He and his wife Brenda met at Concordia College, Seward, NE where they both graduated in the DCE program. They have five children; Joshua, Samuel, Joseph, Anna and Noah.

Office Administrator

Jane Bunn is currently serving in this position after re-joining the Lutherhaven year-round staff in the fall of 2014.  Lutherhaven is blessed to add Jane back to the staff team where she coordinates retreat groups as well as keep us all organized.


Robert McGuire serves Luthehaven as Bookkeeper.  Bob joined the staff in late March of 2013 and continues to track all the accounting and payroll numbers.  Now if we can only get a count on the number of nuts the squirrels keep hiding.

Ministry Impact Staff & Intern

Camp Lutherhaven is pleased to welcome two new Ministry Impact Workers, Michelle Hoffschneider and Rachel Renken. They both began serving in this position in August 2014.  Bethany Andrews also joined the Lutherhaven crew in August 2014 as she completes her Director of Christian Education (DCE) internship along with serving Living Water Lutheran Church in Wolflake, IN. 

Each of these worker's pursuit of ministry and servant hearts have made for a terrific addition to the staff team.

Part-time staff

Part-time staff are crucial to Lutherhaven's daily operation. Currently camp also has teamed up with housecleaning, cooking, and maintenance help.
