ABOUT US

Camp Lutherhaven is a year-round outdoor ministry center that is dedicated to creating adventurous, faith-building experiences for children, youth, adults, and families. Our carefully chosen staff, along with a program that includes recreation, God's Word, group activities, Christian fellowship, worship, personal growth, and of course tons of fun, combine to create an unforgettable experience. Camp is located amidst the rolling hills of Northeast Indiana. It is blanketed by hardwood forests of oak and hickory, and resides on the shores of Lake Muncie. It is a place of adventure, growth, fun, and refuge.

Unafraid
Fear can grip us all at times. It stops us from engaging in some of the most rewarding events in life and often can rob us of that chance to do or be something great. In John 16:33 Jesus tells us to “take heart” because He has “overcome the world.” What an amazing promise this is! Even though we will face trouble we do not have to be controlled or held back by our fear. With Christ as our conqueror we can truly be unafraid. Unafraid to live. Unafraid to love. Unafraid to proclaim. Join us this summer for an adventure of faith as we “take heart” at all that Jesus has done.

Our Priorities
In our fast paced and high tech world, children and youth are constantly told that they need to have all the best stuff, improve the way they look, and be comfortable at all costs. At Camp Lutherhaven, we understand that these mis-truths make for a shallow and unfulfilled life. Instead, Camp offers authentic community, opportunities to experience a world around them that is more amazing than anything we can plug in, and a relationship with God who genuinely cares for them and has great things planned for their lives. At Camp Lutherhaven, we want to invest in each child in a way that impacts them for the rest of their lives. This is no doubt a lofty goal, but we believe that kids are worth it!

Because a camp experience has the potential to be a very memorable and rewarding time in a child’s life, our top priorities include:
  • A safe environment to have fun, grow, share, and experience the adventures of summer camp.
  • A well-trained, Christian staff committed to excellence.
  • Creative opportunities and activities for children to experience the wonder of god’s love and creation.

Summer Staff
Our cabin counselors and staff are carefully selected, Christian, young adults of college age. They bring an excitement for life and a love for kids. Each take part in an in-depth application, interview, and background check process, and then participate in an intense, eight-day training and orientation. They are under the guidance of our camp's Program Director and Executive Director.

Community Policy
One of the awesome things about summer camp at Camp Lutherhaven is the opportunity to experience a special Christian community in the midst of God’s creation. In order to achieve this goal, it is expected that participants come with an attitude of cooperation, goodwill, and respect for people and God’s creation. Please consider carefully your language, dress, and behavior before arriving.

In addition, items such as cell phones can become disruptive and a distraction to the formation of Camp community, relationships, and interaction with Creation around them. Because of this, cell phones are prohibited for those 18 years and under. Camp Lutherhaven reserves the right to send a camper home that is unable to function within this policy.
